Rocinha favela, Rio de Janeiro

Today we hopped into an open top jeep to head to the biggest favela in Rio for a walking tour. This place has a bigger population that Dunedin (about 150,000) and would barely cover a quarter of the city in size. The locals here were super welcoming but we were very pleased to have a guide as it would be so easy to get lost in the maze of streets and alley ways here. We then spent our last afternoon in Rio relaxing in beach chairs on the much quieter Ipanema Beach.Meer informatie
