Bowen

The trip down from Townsville was in two sections. The first continued the cane fields theme with lagoons, bogs and creeks all with lots of water. The Burdekin river was an exception with just a few puddles.....then about 80km from Bowen we crossed a line and went back to grazing land, cattle, market gardens and fruit trees. The creeks or water courses went dry - felt like we had jumped back west for bit. Really gusty winds sprung up along the way - pushing me across more than half a lane at times. Stopped at Tony’s for a coffee. The bakery had a pot of peas and you ask for peas on any of their pies. I had a plain pie loaded up with peas..... seems to be s thing in this part of Qld. Skies getting darker and cloud cover now complete.Leer más
