    Baldwin Street

    March 11 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

Baldwin street is promoted as the steepest residential street in the world. It is steep, and those able to walk up the street did so. One in our group had a delivery to make to a house at the top of the climb. She successfully delivered the package. Luckily it rarely snows here in Dunedin.

FUN FACT- Baldwin Street holds the Guinness book world Record for the steepest street. It has a gradient of 19 degrees for most of the 350 meter stretch and tops out at 21 degrees on the last bit. The street is concrete as in the summer months asphalt would just melt and slide down.
