    Probably where I got Dengue Fever

    The loop road through Big Cypress is a dirt road off the Tamiami Trail. Chock full of birds and gators and, of course, cypress trees.

    The landscape is downright jurassic. Swamp and savannah. Buzz of mosquitoes. Gators sunning by the side of the road.

    We drove this to the Mitchell Landing Campground. Not nearly as bad as the Everglades, but the mosquitoes were serious. This is probably where I got Dengue.
