Vientiane

Back on another bumpy minibus ride, this time to the capital. The city is pretty underwhelming and very low rise for a capital; didn't really see any large hotels or businesses. They do however have their own version of the Arc de Triomphe which you can go to the top off and look out across the city. It has some nice looking embassies and ex-colonial buildings which are now catering to tourists. We had a wonder around, saw the sunset by the Mekong (which flows all the way through the country) and dinner before looking at the huge night market.En savoir plus
