    Nye Beach, Newport, OR

    July 27, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

We drove into Newport the day before these pictures were taken. We went to the historic area the night before and ate at Mo's which claims the have the best clam chowder. It had a touristy dinner feel and the chowder was below average. We had the halibut fish and chips but the fish was greasy. The dessert was the best part, marionberry cobbler. The next day we walked the beach and it was chilly and windy but beautiful. The 2nd pic shows how the wind effects the sand on the beach. The 3rd pic is the view from our dinner on the 2nd night. We ate at Georgies and every table has an ocean view. The attire is casual. We were given warm bread when we sat down that was so good. We then had clam chowder that was amazing!! There was large chunks of clam and creamy broth. I had the breaded shrimp, there was 6 and they were huge! When I bit into the shrimp they snapped and were close to an inch in diameter at the largest point. I only at 5. My husband had the halibut fish and chips which were so fresh and flaky. For dessert we had the marionberry crisp which again as awesome. Definitely try anything marionberry in Oregon.Read more
