After a good night's sleep, headed to Lake Rotoiti for some kayaking. Beautiful lake owned by the Mauri tribe who rents the lakeside homes out for revenue to fund scholarships for their kids. Kayaked across the lake to some hot pools fueled by volcanic water. Ate a traditional lunch of meat pies and then kayaked back against a very brisk breeze and waves to a small, very claustrophobic cave (for me! But I faced my fear and survived!) to see the glow worms which are actually the poop of insect larvae ( look it up Justin). Drove past the kiwi farms. Great day for scenery and exercise!!Leggi altro
