We are onboard and departure is scheduled soon. We all met for lunch at the Buffett Buffet. In the rooms, waiting for luggage and embankment.

Goodbye Tampa

We left Tampa on schedule and spent the day exploring the ship. Dinner was at Fins, the dining room with excellent service. After dinner I checked out the shops and won the raffle. Watched the show, then off to the room.Okumaya devam et

At Sea to Key West

Tuesday we departed about 3 PM and spent the night at Sea, arriving in Key West on Wednesday about mid day. Catherine and Sharon were off on their scooters, Lisa & Rob to the Glass-bottom Boat and Brenda & Kevin off to familiar haunts. Sharon and I strolled through the shops, enjoyed some Key Lime Pie and went off the beaten path a bit with roosters, hens, unique trees and plants. We came across the little White House where Roosevelt, Eisenhower and Kennedy stayed. And we saw the original headquarters of Pan Am Airlines, Key West’s oldest schoolhouse and the original Key Lime Pie shop. A very nice day.Okumaya devam et

I was surprised at the caliber of entertainment on The Islander. There was real talent in the musicians, singers, dancers and acrobatics. I enjoyed one comedian over the other, but really enjoyed the cruise director’s Aussie personality and outfits that matched every occasion.Okumaya devam et

Some food was good, some great, some interesting. But definitely something for everyone. Pizza, tacos and Cheeseburgers in Paradise were plentiful, buffets had a good variety, as did the dessert stations. Best presentation and service was in Fins and Islander dining rooms.Okumaya devam et
