    2,000 years of German history

    Our next stop was the Deutschlandmuseum, which promised an interactive and immersive telling of 2,000 years of German history.

    This is an excellent museum which brought to life the story of this fascinating nation, from the Roman army’s battles against tribes they called Germanic in about AD 8, through the beginnings of the Franks and the so-called Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, the Thirty Years War, the Reformation and the Enlightenment, and the revolutions after the fall of Napoleon, before finally reaching the 20th century, with features on the First World War, the roaring 20s, the Nazis and the Second World War, the Cold War and lastly Reunification.

    My photos don’t do much to convey the sights, sounds and smells of history, or the many interactive displays.

    It was then time for one final round of Würste from one of the Easter Market stalls (v similar to a mini Christmas Market) on the Potsdamer Platz: Bratwurst, Krakauer mit Käse & a Krakauer!

    After retrieving our bags, we returned one last time to the Friedrichstraße Bahnhof to catch a regional express train to Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg.
