Day 28 and 29

Day 28
We checked out today leaving our bags in storage and headed to the centre of Fortaleza. We found a HUGE market, 4 floors of hundreds of stalls. Apparently the area is very known for its lace and leather, this became very apparent when the stalls were lined with leather shoes, wallets, bags, lace, dresses, table mats etc. some really lovely pieces and we really enjoyed looking around but nothing really grabbed my eye enough to buy. I did find a lovely dress but definitely got a tourist price and didn’t think it was good value. After this we got some food and headed to the bus station to get on our 21 hour bus!!!

Day 29
This bus went on forever. Keira managed to sleep for maybe 6 hours on and off, I think I got 2 hours. It wasn’t awful we were expecting it to be pretty horrific but it still wasn’t great. We arrived in Sao Luis at 3.30pm and got to our hostel at 4.30pm. This one has a pool which is such a treat so we dumped our stuff and went for a dip before crashing for the rest of the evening and grabbing some food. Feeling super tired but glad we have made it! Not sure the plan for tomorrow as Sao Luis was mainly used as a stop before our next place so we might just go for a wander and see what we find!Leggi altro
