Gold mining at Deadwood, SD

47 mile ride on the Mickelson Trail with 2,245 ascent. Elevation peaked at 6,212 ft. Challenging through the black hills with two peaks and a long downhill toward Deadwood. There were four train tunnels and over a hundred bridges. We had a trail angel Jason who assisted on the decent and shared a beer at the finish. Camping at Whistler Gulch a former mining town.
