Broome - last day.

I elected to have another day in Broome. Partly just inertia. I was in no hurry to hit the road. 2300 km to Perth, solo. Everytime I think of the distance I reflect on the fact that Pip did it on a bicycle, about 10 years previously. Absolutely awesome.

In the afternoon drove down to Cable Beach with Julie and Paul and motored along the beach a few kms to the north. The tide was out and few people were on that part of the beach. Sure is a country of big wide open spaces!

I had dinner at Paul and Julie’s. Paul had caught a Spotted Cod whilst fishing with his son in law Nick when they were at the Mackeral Islands on their way heading north. We had some BBQ’d fish steaks and it was one of the best pieces of fish I have had in a long time. Absolutely delicious.Read more
