And another cruisy day!

June 21st. Wednesday.

And another cruisy day! Amy took me for a run across the lake on their jet ski to Bird Island and up the Fox River. The island is a sanctuary for migrating and breeding pelicans that fly south in the winter. Can’t blame them. Winters are somewhat savage here, with the lake freezing over. And verdant green and not much habitation on the part of the Fox River we travelled up.

In the evening we drove to Appleton and had dinner at Basil Cafe. It is a favourite restaurant of Loyda and Joven, our hosts. It was my thank you for their hosting us so generously for the week. A mix of Thai and Vietnamese. Food was excellent, as was witnessed by the fact that the restaurant was full. A very pleasant evening.Read more
