Pompeii

The city is quite compact with plenty of bars and restaurants. Short walk from our apartment to the east side of the archaeological Pompeii site. It's unbelievable that the entire Roman city was buried under debris from mout Vesuvius. Great day exploring the ruins but you need the audio guide. Similar to Palatine Hill, the roads are made from huge granite blocks. Apparently they were often flooded to wash away waste water and sewage, with high kerbs and stepping stones to cross the road 😬Weiterlesen
