On to Gisborne today crossing the bailey bridge at Hikawai. There is so much slash in the streams and rivers in this area. Work is beibg done to clear it and fences being rebuilt. Wil take along time before it is all done. Parked up at the Gisborne NZMCA park for the next 5 nights. It is just across the beach which we strolled along in the afternoon
Tuesday we walked into town and stopped at the Sunshine Brewery for pizza and a drink for lunch. Much needed washing done in the arvo
Wednesday
Thursday we went for a bike ride into town and back. Very easy riding as all flat.
Friday went for a walk to the waihirere falls and then later in the afternoon went up to the lookout above Gisborne. Great view of the beach if they trimmed some bushes. Then down to Cathy and Haydens for a dinner and a catch up. Have not seen them for a few years. Great to see these 2 again
