Had a great first day in Rye, arriving around midday. Chris and Dave also came down for the day.
The weather was great, around 25 Degrees and Sunny. We unpacked and then had a couple of hours chilling and lazing by the pool. The water was around 36 Degrees. Chris and Dave had a competition to see who could do handstands the longest in the pool. Chris won!
We had a few nibbles for lunch and a steak and salad tea done on the bbq! Delicious.

    Paul stayed home watching TV.

After the pamper session Mum, Dad, Lee and Laura went to the Rye hotel for a quick drink. Sat on the deck overlooking the beach before heading back to the house.

    March 1, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

After the 2 hour 35 minute flight from Melbourne to Hamilton Island, we collected our bags and headed to the Hayman Island concierge desk. The boat wasn’t quite ready, so we sat in the Hayman Island guest lounge at the airport for half an hour before boarding the boat.

We were the one of the first people on so managed to get some good seats by the window.

It was then an hours boat trip from Hamilton Island across to Hayman Island. Once there we were met by buggies that took us to the hotel and were then taken to our suite.

A quick buggie trip from the central lanai area to the Marina to see the fish feeding this morning.

They are extremely quick able of swimming up to 60km / hour. They have excellent eyesight, and are able to see the fish that the staff were throwing in before it hit the water.
