    Necklace time

    October 26, 2017 in Bolivia ⋅ ⛅ 34 °C

After the ring, it was time for the necklace. The other variety of coconut with multiple holes in it was used for this.
The coconut was sawed into a ring. The coconut pulp was removed from the 3 inner rings. Then it was the same procedure with smoothening of the sides and the edges with 3 different fineness of sand paper. After that the minor coconut pulp strands from the holes near the edges was removed by tapping on them. In the end, the wood was polished by rubbing the coconut pulp to give it a shine.
After that we, passed the thread through the rest of the beads. The last part was the forming of the thread knots between the beads to hold them in place and to space them as well. For this, we had to tie one end of the string to a tree branch and the other to our belt buckle and stretch it while we used the hands to loop the thread pattern. The end result was a fantastic tribal necklace.
