Last Day in Cusco

Today we had a tour of Moray and Maras, an hour north of Cusco. The terraces at Moray were used as an agricultural laboratory, testing different crops at different levels. At Maras are salt evaporation ponds which have produced pink salt since the 12th century. Last stop was a textile centre where we had a demonstration of how the alpaca wool is dyed to make different colours.

Back to Cusco for a final walk around and dinner with our friends. Very early start tomorrow flying to Lima and then Buenos Aires. Farewell Peru, it has been magical.Read more
