• Lost Trail Hotspring

    13 Julai 2024, Amerika Syarikat ⋅ ☀️ 70 °F

This morning the weather was not quite as cold. We drank our coffee outside and watched the crazy squirrels they have here at the campground. They are so tiny. Their bodies are as big as my hand and they are black.

We took a trip up the road and visited Lost Mine Hotspring. As previously stated, it looks like an old hippe commune. The owners are ancient. We figure they bought the place for a song back in the 60s and have done zero upkeep, lol. The pool was not as hot as we like. The temp in the pool was 95, but in the hot tub, it was 101. It only cost 6 it was not expensive at all. We probably stayed a couple of hours.

We passed by the area where paramount films the train station scenes. Redd is so crazy. He was acting like a dead body so I had to act like I was pushing him over haha. Later in the afternoon, we saw them setting up equipment for filming, but at 830pm no activity was happening.

As we drove into Darby after lunch we saw a group of big horned sheep on the side of the road. We watched them for a while. This evening as we went to see if they were filming, we saw the group of sheep again. Fun watching the young males fight with each other. We probably watched them for 45 minutes. They were so close to the jeep we could have petted them if we wanted.

A little snag with our campground reservation today. We were hanging out and avoiding the heat of the day. I was just getting started cooking dinner around 5pm. Our new neighbors ask if we took their site. Apparently I had us checking out today! Omg. So we had to unhook and move over a site because the ppl who had reserved the site we were in wanted it 🙄 I mean we're leaving at 6am tomorrow and they could have took it then but whatever. The campground host was very apologetic, but it was my fault. We were going to just leave and sleep in a rest area, but he suggested we just take the site next to us, which we did. I texted the office manager to pay for the night because I couldn't do it on their website. She said since we were so kind and it was an honest mistake and the site we are now in was open anyway, no charge. So woohoo! I feel bad though because dang! I kept thinking something looked weird about my dates but couldn't figure it out. Dumb.

Tomorrow will be the scariest drive so far. We are avoiding a pass called Homestake Pass by going 50 miles around but there is still elevation gain/loss but not as bad as homestake. Once we are thru then it'll be the Bozeman Pass and then we'll be in Livingston for the night. Gonna head to ethans house tomorrow night and then down to gardiner on Monday.

Oh, and the wth of the day is my boss asking for 10th and 11th grade non athletes. On a Saturday. In the summer. Wtf. "Thank god" I have service. 🙄🙄
