Day 1 As Pilgrims

We are officially Peregrinos!! After an unbelievable breakfast at our hotel, we walked down the hill to the official starting point of the Camino Ingles by the marina. We got our first stamp in our pilgrims passport and we were off. It took a long time to actually put the town of Ferrol behind us and we did see a different side to the town today. Many attractive looking shops and a few bakeries.
Our walk was a mixture of urban and rural. Early in the morning there was hardly anyone else on the streets, but later in the morning we saw more people jogging, walking, and cycling, but very few fellow pilgrims.
We arrived at our lodging for the night around 2:10pm only to discover that Chris’ backpack, which we had stuffed full of everything that we didn’t need on our walk had not been delivered 🙁. However, the extremely kind receptionist from the last night’s hotel just delivered it on her way home.
We are planning to explore the town and find some dinner as soon as we have finished our local beer.Read more
