Plain of Jars

Visited 3 sites where huge "jars" were discovered which are over 2000 years old, the origin of which is unclear. It is thought that after death bodies were placed in them until decomposed, then the bones buried nearby. They were carved out of solid rock several miles away! The area is riddled with bomb craters from the "secret war" when more US bombs fell on Loas than any other country.
