Wat Jom Khao Manylath and theLost wallet

Our visit to the beautiful Wat Jom Khao Manylath in Huay Xai turned into an unexpected adventure. We somehow lost our wallet near the temple — with all our cards and money inside. Panic set in, but luckily, the local monks came to our rescue. Despite the language barrier, they were incredibly kind and eager to help. After some searching, we managed to get the wallet back, untouched!

Laotians have amazed us with their honesty and warmth. Their currency, counted in millions of kip, still confuses us, but locals are always happy to help calculate the right amount with a smile. We’ve already fallen in love with this country!Læs mere
