Kirritapu to Akkeshi 50km

It was a very pleasant day riding along coastal and quiet forest roads. The coast line is mostly dramatic steep green cliffs down to the sea. Much of the forest here is very dense and lush. We stopped at a little campsite near Akkeshi. We found a great little restaurant in the back blocks of Akkeshi, at which I tried amongst other things fried oysters. Sounds weird but they were yum. Crispy texture on the outside, nice and creamy oyster flavour on the inside. Akkeshi is quite large, with a huge fishing port, but hardly a person on the streets.Read more
