    A big day of riding, visiting museums and climbing volcanoes. It was a beautiful ride around to the other side of Lake Toya, taking in a sculpture gallery and the informative visitor centre. They have amazing sculptures all around the parks on the lake edge, and to contrast, in the sculpture gallery there is a room dedicated to some stunning small sculptures (max 20x30x40cm). We set up camp and headed off up the rim to a cable car that took us near to the summit of Mt Usu, an active volcano. We walked 600 steps down to a trail that took us along the crater rim, and back up again. The view was pretty special; you could see fumes coming from active vents and the huge Mt Fuji-like Mt Yotei looming in the background.Read more
