• Coffs Harbour

    22 April, Australia ⋅ 🌙 17 °C

Our last opportunity to go for a morning walk/run along the Valla Beach - the forecast had been for rain all of the day, but thankfully it didn’t eventuate.
But we planned for rain and headed to Coffs Harbour for some activities at the Big Banana.
The kids were excited for the toboggan ride, and after over half an hour wait, they were very disappointed when stuck behind someone who was too scared to travel at any speed.
With most of the other activities looking lame or booked out, we headed to the Fisherman’s Coop for lunch.
After lunch we hit the driving range where 150 balls didn’t go far - literally. With electronic tracking of the balls, Daniel, Michael and Claire took turns to hit 3 balls each. Unfortunately the inexperienced golfers took more than 3 balls each time to register a hit, resulting in Daniel having only 18 hits - but one did go 193 metres.
Returning to camp we had a quick dip at the beach before dinner at the Nambucca RSL. At the RSL Michael found a video game from the 80s - Slap Fight… one of Daniel’s favourites. Michael did the right thing and got Daniel - who was able to set a new high score. Michael got second.
Tomorrow evening drive to Shoal Bay.
