Up around 6 am because I got confused about ship time vs land time. Evidently the ship is an hour behind Puerto Vallarta.

Our tour today was led by Alex, who was a fantastically funny guy and a great guide. Though it turned out to be a shopping style tour it was still fun and informative.

We visited old town and the boardwalk. It was full of large statues and a group was handing out food in the park to anyone who wanted it as a service of love. I got little chihuahua toy from a sweet street vendor lady. If you wanna take anything, I’ll take my purse a heart never mind one of my clothes came from my house. That’s fine. It’ll turn off automatically cause I took this thing out. We’re going to the atrium that’s in the middle. We almost missed the tour guide but made it back with two minutes to spare.

Next we went to a Tequila tasting center. Mom and I both tried six different kinds of Tequila, 7 years in barrel, 4 years in barrel, straight Tequila, mango flavor, coffee flavor and pecan flavor. I was really proud of mom for participating in the tasting.

The state is Jalisco is famous for Tequila and fire opals that have up to 27 colors in sunlight. So of course our next stop was the jewelry shop. Mom got a beautiful ring. I got something for Kyrie as well for Christmas.

After that we drove into the jungle and ate lunch in a nice outside cafe run by locals. It was on a river and we got to watch fish, geese. After a quick stop to pick up mom’s and some other resized rings, we headed back to the ship.

The city and area around Vallarta had also been featured in a number of movies: Night of the Iguana, The Blue Lagoon, Predator (The river where we had lunch was where Schwarzenegger got all muddy to hide from the predator) and Limitless.

We played 80’s trivia and did decently. We also met a grumpy Canadian lady and convinced her and her husband to make the paper flower craft. The lady ended up loving it so we gave her ours too. Then they were ungrumpy.

Tonight’s show is a magic performance.
