Drive to Avignon - Saint Marie-de-la-Mer

When we woke up this morning at the lovely old farmhouse, it rained out of buckets 🫣. Horrible. The other couple staying had their wedding today. Not a nice day in June 😏. After a lovely paysan breakfast we drove on overlooking nice contryside and lovely French villages.
Eventually the rain stopped, but it stayed cloudy. We passed a lot of fruit trees, walnut trees and lavender fields.
Sur le pont d'Avignon.... who does not know that song!? Well our first stop is in Avignon. We have been here in 1980, but apart from the bridge we both can't remember the ancient village at all 🤔. We absolutely loved Avignons and it was not yet full of tourists. Hate to think how it will be in a month time 🙈.
