    Réserve naturelle national de Camargue

    June 16, 2024 in France ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

We decided to drive along the big Réserve naturelle national de Camargue to see Flamingos. The reservoir is so big that the Flamingos we saw were for the Mobile camera almost too far away. We need to go to a different spot... we noticed the Flamingos are looking like they have white feathers rather than pink ones. This is due to what they eat and find in these naturelle reserves. We had lunch in a very hidden restaurant near Villeneuve. Despite the location it seemed well known. It was packed and the service was a bit chaotic. My Loup de mer from the grill was delicious 😋. We went on to the Salin de Girod, which was a real waste of time. We saw only the factory and no saline fields. We also saw lots of huge rise fields. The famous red riz de Camargue is beeing cultivated in this area.Read more
