Tikal - By Day

This afternoon we headed to Tikal for the sunset tour!

Tikal used to be the capital of the Mayan empire, home to 150,000 people and covering 575 square kilometres. There are approximately 10,000 structures on the site however only 3,500 of these have been excavated whilst the remainder remain covered by jungle.
