Morning in Flores

This morning we were up and out to explore the island of Flores! Sea level rise is definitely a thing here with the north west coast of the island being completely flooded, and the sea wall very close to being breached in all other parts.

Since the island is so small our lap didn't take long so we headed across the bridge to do some shopping. We picked up some fresh pastries for breakfast and enjoyed these overlooking the river. We tried to buy SIM cards but forgot these so our connectivity to the outside world will have to wait another day!

We've noticed that each day here seems to begin with the promise of cloud but by 9am this always clears to reveal the baking sun.Leggi altro
