Arriving at the Maracana

After a rushed check in at our hostelcwe joined a group of around a dozen other heading to watch table topping Flamengo take on Fortaleza.

This match would of course be hosted at the Macarana, one of the most famous stadiums in the world having played host to both the 1950 and 2014 World Cup finals.

The streets were teeming with Flamengo colours as the huge stadium complex came into sight.Read more
