Flamengo v Fortaleza

We made it to our seats just in time for kick off and it became apparent quite quickly that this could well be the loudest stadium I've ever stepped foot in! 57.5k mad Brazilians making noise non-stop and particularly getting up for it after an important block or the win of a corner. What an atmosphere!

Unfortunately, despite having been the better side, Flamengo ended up losing 2-1, having scored a penalty and having another goal chalked out for offside.

We'd been looking forward to visiting this stadium for a while and it certainly didn't disappoint. A spectacular visual spectacle (even with all the view obstructing flags) and one of the best atmospheres in the world!Read more
