    Approach to the Capitol

    My first main stop of the day was to the US Capitol building, home to the Senate and House of Representatives, and the site of the infamous invasion and riots on 6th January 2021, scenes that led to Donald Trump's impeachment for incitement of insurrection. The platform you at the back here is also where the President is inaugrated after each election.

    The first thing that struck me about the Capitol is the sheer size of it. I've seen it in pictures and on TV and knew it was big but holey moley it's absolutely gigantic.
