Bus to Lautoka

This morning I thought I'd head to the town of Lautoka, just north of Nadi. Every single bus' final destination seems to be Lautoka so thought I'd see what all the fuss was about!

The bus stop in Lautoka is based at out the back of the town market so naturally this was the first place to explore! I bought two bananas, which I was asked how much I was willing to pay, I offeredBaca lagi
Churchill Park

Next up I headed to Churchill Park, the local sports ground used for all sorts of track and field events! Managed to sneak inside as the gate was open for construction work.
Sri Krishna Kaliya Temple

Not much more to say other than that it's a temple.
Lautoka Botanical Gardens

A bit underwhelming, more of a park than a botanical garden but there was a big billboard outside advertising tax discounts!
Lautoka Sugar Mill (& First Sugar Mill)

Opening in 1903, this sugar mill is the biggest (and first) in all of Fiji and still the largest in the Southern hemisphere!

After ticking off the main sights I ran into Shirley Park, treated myself to a McDonalds for lunch, stopped by at PwC Lautoka and then decided to head to the cinema once again, this time to watchBaca lagi
Last Night in Fiji

I spent my last night in Fiji at the trusty local beach club to enjoy a few drinks and the sunset!

Today was a very chilled day with Shirley and Martin. I managed to wash, dry and put away all of my clothes! I also spent much of the afternoon fine tuning my Central and South America itinerary, asBaca lagi
Morning Mince Pies

This morning host Shirley led me in making mince pies! I did most of the leg work under her guidance and the end result was delicious! The first mince pie I've ever had and starting on a high.
Pool and Drawing

The rest of the day was spent drawing various pictures of 'The Muppets' with Oliver and in the pool!
Evening Drive & Drinks

This evening we went for a drive through the local coastal Arras and stopped off for a few drinks on the way and a chippy on the way home!

First up this morning I headed with Shirley to Aldi to buy some groceries for the next few days, including the ingredients to a cooked breakfast!

Leaving Australia

After a wonderful Christmas with the Fitzies in Australia its time for the next leg of the adventure in New Zealand, a country that's always been near the top of my list!

Arriving in NZ

I've now arrived in Auckland where I will remain until mid-February! A little cloudy and drizzly at the moment but the mountainous landscape is already apparent. Of course had to make a start on LordBaca lagi
NZ Jamboree!

After landing in Auckland I took two buses to Hamilton where I was collected and taken to the site of the 23rd New Zealand Jamboree! For the next 10 days there will be 4,500 young people plus 1,500Baca lagi

The sun was shining over camp this morning which set the tone for the day ahead! Hardly got any sleep for some reason, don't think the 3 hour time difference chance helped!
