• Canal D' Amour

    October 12 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

For today's outing, 'weem guin up the cut ' or for the more refined we're going to check out the Canal D' Amour in Sidari.
The name, when translated, means Chanel Of Live. It's a unique bay area surrounded by large cliffs, a shallow seabed, and a plethora of narrow caverns and water caves.
According to local legend, couples who swim the length of the canal will stay in love forever, while those who swim to the furthest tip will find the love of their life. Many visitors, however, prefer to simply toss a coin into its water and wish for true love. Yes, all that came from the guidebook
This part of Sidariis was very busy, especially on a Sunday, but it was fun, if a little scary, to watch people diving off the cliffs into the beautiful turquoise waters.
Drinks at the bar before checking out some of Kev's recommendations for tonight's meal before heading back for a sit in the sun.
Back to Sidari for our meal in a very traditional taverna covered in vine leaves. A Moussaka forme, a Pististio for Martin , he's been looking for one all week. A Chicken in cream sauce for Fi and a mixed Fish Platter for Mark. The cheapest meal of the holiday and very nice.
Whilst checking out places to eat this afternoon, Martin noticed a live rock band were playing in the bar up the road, so off we go to investigate. They're pretty good, so we stop and watch the whole set. The temperature has dropped a bit tonight, but the litre of red wine seems to be keeping Martin warm. I hope his head is OK in the morning. It was a very pleasant night.
