    ...... and we're away......

    May 22 in England ⋅ 🌙 13 °C

Bertie here, how ya bin, long time no spake. Well I've been enjoying me new storage yard, way better than the old one, surrounded by lots of caravan and motorhome totty! So after a bit of a rest, weem off on our jollies agin un off to Pembrokeshire. Breaking our journey for a couple of nights, we on a farm site just outside Abergavenny.
A nice little field, un apparently we're interloping on a regular meet up with 5 other vans. The owner has over booked the field, there are 7 vans booked in for the weekend, so it's might get a bit tight on space but never mind we've got a good pitch so weem alright.
Om being entertained by the dog's, 4 so far in our field, I hope they don't piddle up me tyres, then there's the buzzards, the turkey, the goats, the hen and the trains going past the bottom of the field . But the sun's shing and it's nice and warm so thems appy, sitting there reading their books un drinking, pop so far for her but he's succumbed to a pint, appy days. Barbie tonight so it's smokie ! 😊

They arrives at the bus station which is swarming with bikers out on a jolly, the weather's bought um out.

We're trying out one o them English Aire type things, basically a carpark behind the community centre.. it's alright a big spot with 4 other vans here but not much fu me tu look at whilst them off fu a wander.
Thems goin tu check out the castle, taking the scenic route along the river. It's free entry as it's Welsh Heritage so that's a good start un there's a nice looking pub just out side the gates so the days getting better.
After a nice pint, just the one, they wanders off down the the Quay, stopping off tu watch the train hurtling past, it's a busy little line, they as tu stop at the leverl crossing on th way back as well,
Well would you know it there's a lovely little car park right on the quay with views of the estuary, about 5 vans parked up, no signs says you can't stay overnight and no parking meter either, bugger.
The tides out so all you con see is a marooned boat and stretches of mud but it's very peaceful.
Back hum tu me and a sit in the sun, boy it's getting hot.

We're on our way un it's Bank Holiday Monday so parking at Laugharne may be a challenge. After stopping off in Carmarthen and stocking up on supplies with summut nice fu is birthday tea, there is lovely scenery again but lots of traffic, thankfully going the opposite way to us.
We find a parking space quite easily un they leave me to head off to the village in search of culture.
It's a nice little town with a castle and a small beach on the estuary.
After walking round the castle they pops into the little pub for refreshments, bonus all beer only £3 a pint. Then it's an ice cream while they wanders off to find the Dylan Thomas boathouse, passing his house on the way, it's further than they think, un bugger me it's hot so they gives up un heads back to me, unny just in time, I'm wilting here, me temp reading is 36 degrees phew, anyroads we're off agin to get to the campsite at Pentlepoir for the next 4 nights un the quicker we get there the quicker he can relax un enjoy his birthday, Just up the road a nice Chinese restaurant so it's a takeaway for tea un a pint while sitting in the sun.

    May 26 in Wales ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

After a leisurely breakfast they manages to get themselves sorted ready for the bus tu Tenby, he's oping for a double decker but a while into the trip round the narrow country lanes he was thankful it's only a single decker, some of the bends were a bit tight, specially when you met summut coming tother way..
Well Tenby in the sunshine what more could you ask for. Beautiful beach, pastel coloured houses, a little harbour, fish un chips un tu top it all a Brewery selling real ale, un right nice it was too.
After gettin off the bus they walked down to the prom and along to the harbour. A quick poke into the fisherman's church then it's off tu find the brewery, the sign points up a little alleyway un up the stairs tu the tap room, but they wasn't expecting what was up the top of the stairs, a lovely beer garden un a huge indoor seating area. 16 own brews tu choose from un nice food as well, so after a pint each un a snack it's back outside in the blistering heat.

It's cooler today, thank gawd un decidedly cloudier. Eventually they gets off their asses un head to the bus stop, today's trip is tu Saundersfoot. Well would you believe it by the time they reaches the bus stop it's raining, thankfully her has the foresight to put the brollies in the bag.
By the time they gets to Saundersfoot it's stopped but there's a rumble of thunder about so they might not have seen the last o the rain.
They heads of down to the sea front, via the little park, there's still a lot of people on the beach, not put off by the rain,. They then makes their way along The Strand to the tunnels leading to Coppet Hall Beach and eventually Wisemans Bridge, a walk of 1 and half miles, thankfully there's a decent pub at the end of it.
Pints in hand and sitting overlooking the beach, yes you guessed it , it's starts pis...ng down. A quick dart to another table under an umbrella and it's back to the pint n crisps, building up the energy for the walk back, it seemed like a good idea when they started.
The thunders still rumbling un they get a bit wet walking back but the rain doesn't last long, a quick walk down by the harbour and then they heads off in search of a Fish n Chip supper. Theres another Harbwr Brewery pub which serves meals so that's a winner, Fish n Chips for him un Scampi for her before heading back on the bus. Saundersfoot was much nicer than they expected.
