Sallustiano Obelisk

At the top of the Spanish Steps you can find the Sallustiano Obelisk (Obelisco Sallustiano) standing before Trinity de Trinità dei Monti church. This is an 18th century Roman made monument constructed in style and manner of the ancient Egyptian obelisks.
Sallustiano Obelisk features Egyptian hieroglyphs and, I'm told, highly resembles the ancient Flaminio Obelisk, which is situated in the nearby Piazza del Popolo. It is neat monument to see even if only an imitation and it's worth taking a few minutes of your time once you've made your way up the Spanish Steps.Leia mais
