  • Sharing

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

Since this is going to be a short trip, we’re sharing a single suitcase. Unlike some people we know, we prefer to always travel very light. It’s just a lot easier.

  • An Early Start

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

We’ve got to catch a very early flight so we’re leaving in what feels like the middle of the night. I hardly slept so I’m feeling so tired. I’m hoping that I can sleep a bit on the plane.

  • Driving

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

I’m glad that I don’t have to do the driving because I’m so sleepy. Going into the shower woke me up quickly but I’m starting to feel drowsy again.

  • At JFK

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

Airports seem to be run very inefficiently and designed to make the hinge as inconvenient as possible for the passengers. I love going to airports and flying to new places but I usually don’t like my experiences at the airports. The overwhelming feeling is usually frustration.Read more

  • Checking In

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

I’m glad that we got here early because the airport was a lot more crowded than we had expected it to be. So many people are on the line to check in. We planned ahead and did the online check in last night. What a timesaver!Read more

  • TSA Lines

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

Although we saved time by not checking in, we lost a lot of time waiting on that pesky TSA line. We were shocked at how crowded the airport was at this hour of the morning. Why are so many people here?!Read more

  • Our Plane

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

The plane we’ll be riding is already at the gate waiting for us. We should start boarding in about half an hour so at least we don’t have too much longer to wait.

  • Undercover Raphael

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

With nothing left for us to do but wait, I decided to do a quick bit of toy photography. The airport is really a great location to get photos. It’s too bad that they are so strict about letting people in. If not, I’d be coming here regularly!Read more

  • Crowded

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

We think we’ve figured out why it’s so crowded in the airport despite it being so early. The New York City Marathon was held yesterday and we’re guessing that most of these people are runners who are now headed home. When we were on the TSA lines, and here at the gate, almost everyone had bags tagged with addresses that are local to New Orleans.Read more

  • On Time

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

I don’t see any delays on the board so it looks as if we’ll be leaving right on time. It’s good to see the airline industry becoming more efficient. For a while, so many flights were being delayed and cancelled. I’m glad that we didn’t do any flying at that time!Read more

  • Boarding

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

JetBlue is finally allowing people to board the plane. I don’t know why they turn the simple act of getting on a plane into such a convoluted and time consuming process. It’s such a waste of time!

  • The Jetway

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

Finally, it’s our turn to board the plane. We’re in group C but we went up when they announced boarding for group B. We wanted to make sure that we had enough room in the overhead bin for our bag. Does it really matter to stay in a certain group? I don’t think so.Read more

  • Masked Up

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

As we settle into our seats, I’m noticing that very few people are wearing masks on this flight. Yes, they are annoying and uncomfortable but we’re being very careful now. We caught Covid on our last trip to New Orleans and don’t want to go through it again.Read more

  • Will it Fill Up?

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

The plane looks kind of empty because we were among the first people to get on. I’m hoping that it’s not a full flight so that we could get a chance to stretch out a bit and, hopefully, sleep.

  • Filling Up

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

This flight is filling up very quickly and it’s looking like there won’t be any extra seats to sleep in. Why are there this many people here so early in the morning?

  • The Safety Lecture

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

Does anyone really listen to these talks about airline safety? I was looking around at the other passengers and none of them seemed to be paying any attention to the flight attendant. This seems to be the most thankless part of their job.Read more

  • Lights Out!

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

The lights have been turned down in order to allow everyone a chance to sleep a little more. I like this glowing blue look. I feel like I’m on some sort of a spaceship!

  • Ready to Go

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

As much as I appreciate the lights turned down, I know that I’m not going to be sleeping on this flight. I’m just not able to sleep on planes, no matter how hard I try. I do try but sleep always eludes when traveling.Read more

  • Taking Off

    November 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 63 °F

We’re just starting to take off and head down to New Orleans. Unfortunately, I don’t have a window seat this time so this is the best view that I could get. Kathy booked me an aisle seat and herself in a center seat. A stranger has the window seat.Read more
