Kathy’s feeling so tired right now. Waking up so early has really taken a toll on her. Now that we’re up in the air I hope that she’ll be able to get some rest.

On the Aisle

I’m sitting in the aisle seat, which has several advantages, but I’m missing the window seat. I liked being able to look out and see the clouds, watch our takeoff and landing, take pictures and videos, and lean against the wall while resting. I’m not sure yet if the aisle or window seat is preferable to me.Read more

Despite the person in the window seat leaving the blinds open, Kathy was able to fall asleep very quickly. I guess waking up very early and being so exhausted helps.

No Sleep for Me

No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t sleep at all. The best that I could do was to just sit with my eyes closed and relax. Sleeping while traveling is just not possible for me.

Entertainment options on planes are so much better than they used to be. Even so, I find myself rarely using them. I usually prefer to take out my Amazon Kindle and read a book or use just use my phone.Read more

We’ve Landed!

We’ve just landed in New Orleans which means it’s time for everyone to immediately stand up in the aisle and wait for around twenty minutes until we can get off the plane. I don’t know why everyone does this. It’s such a waste of time! Sit down, relax, and just wait for a bit! That’s much less stressful than doing this!Read more

As we walked into the airport terminal, I noticed that we had come in on the exact same gate that we arrived from the last time we were here. Is the New Orleans airport really that small or is JetBlue only allowed to use one gate? I guess it doesn’t really matter. I’m just happy to be here!Read more

We made it through the airport very quickly since we didn’t have to pick up luggage and we arrived early enough to avoid the crowds that will, invariably, show up later.

The Uber car assigned to us was already sitting outside the airport so we didn’t have to wait at all. The driver doesn’t seem all that friendly though and didn’t even turn her her around to greet us. She just checked our name and then took off.Read more

Not a Pleasant Ride

One thing that really shocked me about this driver was, the whole time we were in the car, she was loudly playing her radio set to a station called Black Information Network. All it seemed to be was hateful rants against white people. I guess that explains why she never spoke to us or even turned her head around for our entire ride. It disturbs me to think that there really are radio stations like this out there. It’s a scary thought.Read more

We finally made it to Hotel Indigo in the heart of the French Quarter. This is a very new hotel and it’s minimalist decor looks a bit strange to me. I guess than I’m more used to the more traditional styles of places like the Marriott or the Hilton.Read more

A Room With a View

We’re on the hotel’s top floor so we’ve got a very good view. While the skyline might not be as grand as places like New York or Shanghai, it’s still very nice. I’d like to see how it looks at night.

The room is very nice! It’s not big but it feels very cozy. It’s perfect for the two of us. I’m sure that we’ll be happy here during our stay in New Orleans.
