Walking in the French Market

Walking through the French Market actually takes a while because the whole place is several blocks long. We didn’t see everything but we managed to see quite a bit.
Leaving the French Market

We’re ready to leave the French Market and, surprisingly, but didn’t buy anything except food. There’s always lots of good bargains to be had here but I think we did all of our shopping on our Czytaj więcej
Streetcar Station

The streetcar station is right next to the French Market but we don’t want to wait here for the next streetcar to arrive. There’s a homeless person laid out on the floor and the whole area has an Czytaj więcej
Quotes

I saw this great quotation, from Dr. Seuss, painted on the floor of the streetcar station and it really meant a lot to me. Dr. Seuss was a very wise man!
Happy Couple

We decided to wait a bit outside of the station for the streetcar, closer to the French Market. There was plenty of seating here plus, as a bonus, we were in the shade.
Pacific Northwest

The walls near the station are painted with designs of the Pacific Northwest. I really like this mural but I’m surprised that someplace as hot as New Orleans has embraced the cold north.
Tracks

The time passed by quickly and we’re back at the streetcar station. That hobo is still there but hopefully he won’t be getting on to ride with us. I doubt he’s got money for the fare anyway.
Hot and Humid

The weather is still very hot and muggy despite it being November. I’m so happy we’re not here during the summer months. At least the streetcar will be arriving in a few minutes.
It’s Finally Here

The streetcar took longer than we had expected to arrive, or at least it probably seemed that way because we’ve been waiting under the hot sun for a while, but it’s finally here! Let’s go and Czytaj więcej
Let’s Ride!

Like me, Groot loves riding around the city in the streetcars. The windows provide great views as we travel through the heart of New Orleans.
Sitting at Last

Although the streetcar was a bit crowded, both of us were able to get seats and I was so happy that the cart was a lot cooler than it was outside.
A Window Seat

Rather than just sitting, and doing nothing, as we rode, I used the time to get a few more toy photos. This Baby Yoda figure always seems to photograph well. I love how expressive he is!
Walgreen’s

After getting off the streetcar, right by our hotel, we decided to stop at Walgreens and pick up some much needed water and a few snacks. I love how this Walgreens looks! It’s so old fashioned Czytaj więcej
Piano Keys

Back at our hotel, I was very taken with this piece of art hanging in the lobby. I’m noticing hotel artwork a lot more lately and I’m liking what I see. The patterns made by these piano keys look Czytaj więcej
St. Charles Line

After relaxing in our room for a little while, we decided to venture out and find something to eat for dinner. We haven’t been on this streetcar line, St.Charles, yet. Maybe on our next visit.
Hop on!

I think that I’m done riding the streetcars in New Orleans, at least on this visit. I’d love to keep riding this wonderful and unique form of public transportation but, sadly, we’re leaving Czytaj więcej
CVS

I do a lot of shopping at CVS back home but my local CVS doesn’t look anything like this. I really love the old fashioned and retro style everything seems to have here. It’s like stepping into the Czytaj więcej
Krystal’s

We’re walking down Bourbon Street, on our way to dinner, and passing by Krystal’s, the south’s answer to White Castle. I’m really tempted to go in and grab a few burgers. They were quite tasty!
