Watching TV

We’re too tired to go out exploring anymore tonight so we’re just going to stay in our room, relax, and watch some television. We’re not really sure what’s on though. The channels and showЧитать далее
Good Night, New Orleans!

One last look at New Orleans before we go to sleep. The view out of the window in our hotel room is very nice. I thought it look good this afternoon but it’s even better at night. Good night!
Good Morning!

The city of New Orleans looks the same as it did yesterday but things in our room aren’t the same at all. After waking up, we found out that our hotel room had no electricity or running water. WeЧитать далее
Finding a New Hotel

We obviously can’t stay in a hotel room with no electricity or water so Kathy began working on finding us another place to stay. We’re very lucky that she works in the travel industry. She’s gotЧитать далее
Packing Up

Kathy found us a room quicker than I expected. There was a football game in the city last night causing nearly all the hotels to be fully booked. I never knew the New Orleans Saints were so popular!Читать далее
Everybody Up!

We’ve got to finish packing up all our stuff and then get to the other hotel so everybody has to get up and help. No more lazing about!
A Brief Breakfast

Kathy is having a banana before we get ready to leave the room. I didn’t consider it before but we’re going to have to walk downstairs to the lobby with our luggage.
Going Down

And so begins the long journey of walking down ten flights of stairs with all of our luggage. I’m so happy that we always travel light or this could have been much worse.
Repair Crews

When we checked out of our room. We were told that we weren’t going to be charged anything because of there being no electricity or water. There’s lots of repair trucks outside the building. AtЧитать далее
Bye, Hotel Indigo

This was a nice hotel, and I’m sorry that we’re leaving, but electricity and water are both necessities that we need. Hopefully we’ll stay here again sometime and things will work out better. IfЧитать далее
The Ruby Slipper

Walking down all those flights of stairs must have worked up an appetite because we were both so hungry. We decided to have breakfast at the Ruby Slipper before going to our new hotel.
Tired but Hungry

It felt strange going into a restaurant with all of our luggage but we were too tired and hungry to even care. All we wanted right now was to eat.
Crowded Already

Here’s a panoramic view of the whole restaurant. I’m surprised it’s this busy so early in the morning. I wonder how many of the people here are from Hotel Indigo and checked out early, like we did.
Time to Eat!

Despite it seeming busy, we were served our food fairly quickly. Everything looks delicious and we’re ready to dig in. We’re so hungry!
Biscuits and Gravy

I got the biscuits and gravy, a southern staple that’s impossible to find in New York City. As much as I enjoy this dish, it’s, unfortunately, been categorized as a vacation meal.
Problems

After finishing breakfast, we noticed that the problems at Hotel Indigo still weren’t resolved. Now, they have a car blocking a street filled with service vehicles. I wonder how this all started.
On Our Way

Well, Hotel Indigo isn’t our problem anymore because we’re on our way to our new hotel, the Hampton Inn and Suites. It’s just around the corner from Hotel Indigo so, thankfully, we didn’t haveЧитать далее
Welcome!

I was kind of surprised to find the hotel lobby was a bit crowded. I wonder how many of these people have come here from Hotel Indigo, like we did. The staff at the front desk was very efficient andЧитать далее
Welcome, Kathy!

I’m seeing more and more hotels doing this now. They leave on the television and it has a greeting with the guests name on it. I think it’s a nice idea and makes the room seem more personal andЧитать далее
That’s a View?

The view we had at Hotel Indigo was much nicer than what we have now at the Hampton Inn and Suites. Well, it’s only going to be here for one day so I guess that we’ll just have to deal with it.
Two Beds?!

Even worse than our nonexistent view was the fact that this room was furnished with two double beds rather than just one king sized, or even queen, bed. I can’t even remember the last time Kathy andЧитать далее
Uncle Scrooge?

As we left our new hotel, I noticed this design on the sidewalk of the building next door. Are we staying right beside Scrooge McDuck’s money bin? The bin holds 3 cubic acres of cash and thisЧитать далее
St. Charles Line

We’re all done with the hotel, for now, so let’s get out there and explore our last full day in New Orleans! What shall we see first?
Harrah’s

The first place we came to as we walked down Canal Street was Harrah’s Casino. We thought it would be a great place to cool down and enjoy the air conditioning. It’s still early in the day butЧитать далее
Red or Black?

Roulette is probably one of the easiest casino games to understand and play. Despite that, I’ve never tried playing it. I’ve thought about it a few times but the minimum bets are usually kind of high.
