  • The Day is Starting

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 52 °F

The terminal is starting to get a bit more people in it as the day is beginning. Everyone seems to be in such a hurry and doesn’t even pay attention to all the new renovations around them.

  • The Big Picture

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 52 °F

I’m so happy that my phone has the capability to take these panoramic pictures. This is a sort of photography that I’ve been doing more and more now. I’m so happy with my phone’s ability to take photos that I’m leaving my cameras home on this trip. Let’s see how I do with just the phone, my GoPro, and my Insta360. I love traveling light!Read more

  • Business as Usual

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 52 °F

LaGuardia Airport is really shaping up to be the kind of airport that we need, and deserve, here in New York. The renovations seem to be going very slowly but, in the end, New Yorkers will finally have an airport that they can be proud of.Read more

  • Mask Up!

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 52 °F

I really hate wearing these face masks! We’ve been doing it for the past two years but the pandemic is supposedly over now and restrictions are being lifted everywhere. That’s a big reason why we’re able to travel again. We feel safe enough to go on vacation but how much more time until we can stop wearing masks? It looks horrible in photos!Read more

  • More Lines

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

We’re finally getting ready to board the plane and that means more waiting on line. First we had to wait on a line to pass through the gate and now this one to proceed down the jetway. There’s got to be a more efficient way of doing this!Read more

  • Waiting

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

I don’t understand the reason that nobody is moving. All you have to is walk through this corridor, enter the plane, and sit in your seat. People always seem to enjoy making things much more difficult than they have to be.Read more

  • Ready to Board

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

It’s finally our turn to enter the plane. I wanted to take a shot of the cockpit, to add to the trip log, but one of the flight attendants was standing in front of the door. I wanted to ask him to move but thought that might be a bit pushy. I haven’t been able to get a shot of s plane cockpit since our trip to San Francisco. I need to get another one.Read more

  • Here We Are

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

Is is it just me or do these seats, and the amount of leg room, look bigger than usual? The seats feel a lot more comfortable than I remember them to be also. I think that this is going to be a very good flight.Read more

  • An Empty Flight

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

I don’t think that I’ve ever been on a flight that had so few people on it. Since the plane was so empty, the flight crew started moving passengers around to make the plane a bit more balanced. I don’t know how much of a difference that’s going to make for the plane but it worked out well for us. Kathy and I got a row all to ourselves and I got the window seat. I was right, this is going to be a great flight!Read more

  • A Window Seat

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

I’ve got a love/hate relationship with the window seat. I love it for taking pictures and videos, especially during take off and landing, but I also hate it because it’s so difficult to get out of the seat to use the restroom or just stretch my legs. It’s fine now because it’s just Kathy and I in the row but I always feel bad about inconveniencing a stranger. Unless it’s a very long flight, I’ll just stay seated and hold it!Read more

  • The Safety Lecture

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

Does anyone even pay attention to these lectures on safety anymore? I feel bad for the flight attendants who have to go through this every flight for, essentially, no reason. He must agree with me because he looks thrilled to be doing his presentation.Read more

  • Welcome to New York

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

Although it doesn’t apply to us at the moment, I really like this sign. I’m hoping that we’ll see it on the way back home. It would look nice as a returning shot as we land.

  • JetBlue

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

I haven’t flown on JetBlue for a long time. I think that my last time using them was my trip to Walt Disney World back in 2013. This is the first time that Kathy and I are flying on JetBlue together. Usually, we prefer to fly with Delta.Read more

  • Ready to Go

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

I’m very happy and excited to be traveling but, at the moment, we don’t seem to be going anywhere. I’m not sure what’s happening, but after we pulled away from the gate we’ve been just sitting here.

  • Waiting to Go

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

We still haven’t made any progress in moving down the runway. I’m seeing a few planes taking off but not many. Why is everything being delayed?

  • The Queue

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

Now I see what the delay is. We’re on line with lots of other planes waiting to get clearance for take off. I don’t know how long this is going to take but it looks like we’re going to be here for a while.Read more

  • The Iron Giant

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 54 °F

Everyone is getting impatient while waiting for our turn to take off. I’m glad that I’ve got a bag of toys to keep myself busy. I feel bad for the people who didn’t bring anything with them to occupy their time.Read more

  • Fear of Flying

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 54 °F

It’s Grogu’s turn at the window but he’s looking very nervous and a little bit afraid. Grogu is very quickly becoming one of my favorite figures. He’s small, easy to travel with, very expressive and well made. He’s going to be a permanent travel companion, I think.Read more

  • I am Groot!

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 54 °F

Of course, Groot gets a good long turn at the window. Despite my new Baby Yoda figure working out very well for me, I think that Groot will always be my favorite. He’s earned his permanent place in the figures traveling collection.Read more

  • Settling Down

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 54 °F

Everyone’s had a turn at the window, even though there’s nothing to see yet, so it’s time to settle down and enjoy the ride. Usually Groot rides in my lap but since the flight is so empty he gets to have his own seat. What a lucky little guy!Read more

  • Feeling Thirsty?

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 52 °F

I’m surprised that drinks were served so soon after we took off. I’m not complaining though. A cup of ice water is always welcome. Kathy opted to get a Pepsi despite it still being kind of early in the morning. Well, we’re on vacation now so I guess that it’s okay to break the rules.Read more

  • In the Bin

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 66 °F

We’re not the sort of people who start opening the luggage bins during the flight but Kathy went into her bag an unprecedented three times on this trip. The first time I took out the bag for her but the last two times she wanted to do it herself. She wanted her headphones, her phone charger and some snacks to munch on. At least it wasn’t a crowded flight and her bag wasn’t heavy!Read more

  • Where Are We?

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 77 °F

I really like the flight map feature that’s built into each seat. I think it’s even better than the plane’s entertainment features! It’s nice to know where we are and how much longer the flight is going to be. Usually, I don’t even bother with the variety of movies or tv shows that are available. I just leave the flight map on for the whole trip.Read more

  • A Smooth Ride

    May 2, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 79 °F

This has been a great ride so far. There’s no turbulence at all and we’re enjoying the ride. I’d forgotten how nice it feels to travel by air!
