  • Crossing Canal Street

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 81 °F

It’s another beautiful day in New Orleans! The weather is a bit warm for my taste but at least we’re not having to deal with rain or gloomy skies. It’s great weather for photography!

  • Pierre

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 81 °F

This is Pierre, who I’m assuming is the mascot of the Chicken and Daiquiri restaurant he’s standing in front of. Since it’s early and the streets aren’t crowded, we couldn’t resist taking a picture with him. He’s so colorful!Read more

  • My Turn

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 81 °F

After taking photos of Kathy, she wanted to get a shot of me standing with Pierre. This Chicken and Daiquiri place is just across the street from our hotel. I wonder if it’s a restaurant worth going to. We don’t drink daiquiris but we do enjoy chicken.Read more

  • Pierre

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 81 °F

Pierre looks very colorful and festive but he doesn’t make me think of chicken. I do like the idea of restaurants setting up displays like this though. The big crazy looking mascots always get a lot of attention and make for great photo opportunities.Read more

  • McDonald’s

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 81 °F

We decided to have a quick breakfast today and stopped by the McDonald’s that was across the street from our hotel. Of all the fast food places, I think that McDonald’s makes the best breakfasts.

  • Hobo Central

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 82 °F

What a mistake it was to come to this McDonald’s. As soon as we entered, we were being approached by homeless people begging for money. Why do the people working here allow this sort of element inside the restaurant? Don’t they know that it would put off their paying customers?Read more

  • Back to the Hotel

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 82 °F

We had planned on eating our breakfast at the McDonald’s but didn’t want to stay there anymore with all the bums around. We decided to get our food as a takeaway order and bring it back to the hotel. At least it’s clean and we can eat there in peace. I can’t imagine us going back to that McDonald’s anymore.Read more

  • Worst Breakfast Ever

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 82 °F

I usually enjoy breakfast from McDonald’s but this was my worst experience ever with their food. The eggs were very hard and overcooked, the biscuit was hard and obviously stale and the sausage looked fine on one side but was uncooked on the other side and looked raw. Even my chocolate milk was inedible. It was warm and smelled a bit off. Both of our meals went straight into the garbage.Read more

  • Dog and Gator

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

We’re back out on the street again, hungry, but not letting a bad start ruin our day. We pass this big mural all the time so I finally decided to get a shot of it. It’s odd looking but, somehow, I like it.Read more

  • Today’s Plans

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

Our plan for today was to go to the Mardi Gras museum. We visited this attraction on our first trip to New Orleans and really enjoyed it. It’s been a while, so we felt like it was time for another visit.Read more

  • On the Shuttle Bus

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

The Mardi Gras museum is a bit of a distance from downtown New Orleans but, fortunately, they offer a free shuttle service to take people to and from the museum. This makes it very easy and convenient for us to visit the museum.Read more

  • Welcome!

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

This jester figure standing at the front entrance is the same one that I remember from last time. I expected some things here to be the same but I’m hoping that we’ll be seeing a lot of different things on this visit.Read more

  • Kathy and the Gorilla

    May 4, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

I had no need to be worried, however. As soon as we walked into the lobby we noticed many new figures, like this gorilla. The beads that Kathy is wearing are our tickets into the museum. Using Mardi Gras beads as tickets to the Mardi Gras museum is a great idea!Read more
