I've got the car all packed up and I'm ready to go! Chewbacca is sitting right beside me and he'll be my co-pilot on this drive up to Niagara Falls and then picking up Veronica from school on the wayWeiterlesen
Breakfast Stop
21. Januar 2017 in den USA ⋅ 🌫 37 °F
I just finished the first leg of my trip up north to get Veronica from her school in Geneseo. Right now, I'm in the Poconos, in McDonald's, having breakfast.
Rather than just going to pick VeronicaWeiterlesen
On the Border
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 55 °F
I made it! The rest of the ride to Canada was uneventful and quick. The Honda Pilot drove very smooth but it ate gas like crazy! I could never afford a car like that. I'd go broke putting gas in itWeiterlesen
The Fog
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 50 °F
My quick getaway to Niagara Falls turned out to be a complete bust! I didn't even get to see the falls since the entire area was shrouded in this heavy fog.
I was able to hear the water falling, andWeiterlesen
Where are the Falls?
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 50 °F
In what I had hoped would be my best visit to Niagara Falls has turned out to be my worst. It started off with that surly border guard and just kept going downhill from there.

Shut Down
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 50 °F
I knew that January is not the height of the tourist season for Niagara Falls but I expected to see at least a few places still open. The Clifton Hill area looked to be mostly open but everythingWeiterlesen
Niagara Falls?
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 50 °F
I feel almost like I'm on another planet. The fog is so thick that I can't see anything yet I can hear the roar of the falls and can feel the mist of the falling water on my face. Such a strangeWeiterlesen
No Views Today

There's no point in trying to use these things today. You can't see anything!
Misty Days
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 48 °F
I'm still so surprised by how bad the fog here is. I didn't see any of this as I was driving up. Maybe it's because of all the water? I hope it passes soon.
The Fog
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 48 °F
I have to say, I'm really starting to like this fog. It's giving Niagara a decidedly spooky look. I just wish it wasn't getting so cold!
Lonely is the Night
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 48 °F
The thick fog is giving everything a very creepy and eerie sort of look. I'm really glad that I'm getting a chance to get such unique shots. I am missing my chance to see the falls but getting aWeiterlesen
Skylon Tower
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 48 °F
Skyline Tower can hardly be seen because of all the fog. There's a rotating restaurant up there, as well as the usual selection of gift shops and souvenir stands. I was planning on going to the top ofWeiterlesen
Niagara Falls
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ ⛅ 46 °F
I've never seen Niagara Falls like this before. At least I've seen the falls on previous trips though. I feel bad for people who are here for possibly the first time. Maybe they've come from so farWeiterlesen
Nothing to See
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ 🌫 46 °F
Every time I visit Niagara Falls I see at least a few of these viewers being used by tourists who are eager to see the Falls up close. Today, none of the viewers are in use. With the fog blowing in,Weiterlesen
A Late Christmas
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ 🌫 46 °F
These Christmas trees provide some nice splashes of color in this otherwise gloomy scene. I'm wondering if they just haven't gotten around to taking them down or if Christmas is just celebrated a bitWeiterlesen
Darkness Falls
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ 🌫 46 °F
The longer I was out, the worse the fog seemed to get. It kept getting colder too. All I was wearing was my Northface jacket and I was really starting to feel the cold. The dampness from the fog andWeiterlesen
It's Still Christmas Here

I'm glad that I'm seeing a bit of what Niagara Falls looks like during the Christmas season. I'm wondering if this is all the decorations that go on display or if there's a lot more and this is justWeiterlesen
Welcome to Ontario's Niagara Falls
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ 🌫 45 °F
The lights in the park running alongside Niagara Falls was a nice touch. The fog made them look even better than they normally would have.
Fountain of Lights
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ 🌫 45 °F
I was surprised, but happy, that Niagara still had a lot of their Christmas decorations on display. These lights, looking like a fountain, are beautiful!
Christmas Trees in the Mist
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ 🌫 45 °F
The Christmas tree lights look very eerie is the heavy fog with the real trees all around them. Being able to get shots like this almost make it worth so being able to see the falls. Just almost..
Misty Trees
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ 🌫 45 °F
Here's another shot of the Christmas trees in the mist. I really like what the fog is doing with the lights. I rarely have the opportunity to shoot in heavy fog. I'm enjoying it! I just wish it wasn'tWeiterlesen

Return to Clifton Hill

The fog gave everything at Niagara Falls a very different sort of a look. While it's true that I didn't get to see the actual falls, I got to see the area with a very different and unique look. I wishWeiterlesen
Clifton Hill
21. Januar 2017 in Kanada ⋅ 🌫 43 °F
The fog seems to be keeping a lot of people away from Clifton Hill. Normally, this area is quite crowded. I hate dealing with crowds so this was great for me. The fog gives the area a very differentWeiterlesen
