  • Up

    October 21, 2013 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 75 °F

With that big bundle of balloons, this is obviously from the movie Up. While it’s a very popular film, it wasn’t one of my favorites. I thought that a lot of the movie was very sad. Sadness and despair isn’t what I tend to associate with the typical offerings from Disney.Read more

  • So Colorful!

    October 21, 2013 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 75 °F

I’m not sure what Disney film this is taken from but it’s so colorful and vibrant! I’m really glad that I got to see some of this show. The next time I visit the Magic Kingdom I’ll have to make an effort to see the whole thing.Read more

  • Fireworks

    October 21, 2013 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 75 °F

The projections are becoming fireworks now so I’m guessing that this is almost the end of the show. These projection shows seem to be getting quite popular and I’m thinking that they are going to become the new standard in Walt Disney World and elsewhere.Read more

  • Real Fireworks

    October 21, 2013 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 75 °F

For the finale, real fireworks started going off. This was totally unexpected to me and I didn’t have the right settings on the camera to capture them properly. Well, I’m sure I’ll be seeing a lot more fireworks while I’m here. I’ll be ready next time.Read more

  • After the Show

    October 21, 2013 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 75 °F

As it turns out, the spot I was standing in to take pictures was the same place that some of the people from the Disney Photography Blog were standing. I didn’t really know any of them yet, other than seeing their pictures online, but so far they seemed okay I guess.Read more

  • The Little Mermaid

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 75 °F

As a group we walked over to Tomorrowland and then did nothing but stand about for nearly an hour. I’m thinking that arrangements were made to meet someone there but they never showed up. What a waste of time! Eventually, we started moving again and ended up at the Little Mermaid attraction in Fantasyland.Read more

  • The Grotto

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 75 °F

One of the people in the group worked at Walt Disney World and managed to get us an area of the Little Mermaid attraction queue roped off so we could have a private shooting.

  • Private Shooting

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 75 °F

I’ve never done anything like this at any of the Disney parks so this really impressed me. I never even knew that this sort of thing was allowed. I’m really going to take advantage of this situation!

  • Going Wide

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 75 °F

I’m not sure what lenses everyone else was using, but I immediately went for my fisheye lens. With such a wide angle, I was able to capture the entire room and also have a unique perspective. I think that I made a good choice.Read more

  • Queue Details

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 75 °F

The dome ceiling was the main attraction, of course, but our surroundings were also worthy of a few shots. The queues for the Disney rides are all very detailed and elaborate. It’s things like this that make the Disney parks extra special!Read more

  • VIP Photo Area

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 75 °F

While shooting, we noticed several times that the queue of regular guests getting on the ride would be looking in at us and several even took pictures. I guess that they were wondering who we were and why we were allowed in this roped off area. I’m a bit surprised that none of them asked us what we were doing.Read more

  • Special Times

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 73 °F

Although it’s been a while, it feels like our time here has ended all too quickly. This definitely was a very special experience and I’ll never forget it. I’m so happy that I was able to be a part of it.Read more

  • Ariel

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 73 °F

I was expecting another of the typical Fantasyland dark rides but this was so much better. The figures looked a lot more advanced and even moved around a bit.

  • Conga Line

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 73 °F

I think that the fish conga line was my favorite part of the Under the Sea song. It’s fun and silly. I’m glad that they decided to put this scene in the attraction.

  • Under the Sea

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 73 °F

A big portion of this attraction recreates the Under the Sea song and it’s very well done. Nearly all of the sea creatures that I remember from that sequence are there performing.

  • King Triton

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 73 °F

As a final goodbye, King Triton makes an appearance at the end of the ride. It was a nice touch but I think that he should have appeared before Ariel and Eric. Since the ride is about the Little Mermaid, she should really be the one who gets the final goodbye.Read more

  • A Great Ride!

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 73 °F

This was my first time experiencing the Little Mermaid attraction and I really enjoyed it! This is such a great addition to the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland expansion. I can’t wait to see what other new things have gone up in this area.Read more

  • Casey Jr.

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 73 °F

After we left the Little Mermaid attraction, the majority of the group wanted to go back to Tomorrowland and look for whoever it was that they were waiting on before. I thought that would be a waste of time so I said good night to everyone and decided to explore a bit on my own.Read more

  • Circus Train

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 73 °F

I’m not really sure how I feel about the people in this group yet. Many of them seem to already know each other and have their own little cliques when mean the others are pretty much ignored. I don’t really like that. I’m really exhausted right now so maybe I’m just tired and cranky. Since that’s a likely possibility, I’ll reserve judgment and just give everyone the benefit of the doubt tonight.Read more

  • Camels Spit!

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 73 °F

This area is a part of the new and expanded Fantasyland. The Casey Jr. Circus Train is a sort of water playground for kids. I’m glad that I’m here so late so that I can get some uninterrupted shots. I would think that during the day this area would be overrun with small children.Read more

  • Elephants

    October 22, 2013 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 73 °F

The water being sprayed by the elephants seems to go everywhere with no discernible pattern. I’m going to need to make sure that my camera, and lenses, don’t get wet.
