Sunday Walking Street

Every Sunday night, one of the streets in Old Town Cheng Mai is converted to a night market. Cars are blocked off and the street turns into a major market. Old town chiang mai was a walled city with a moat around it. There are a limited number of "gates" or entrances into the old city. The main part of the market starts at one of the gates and is one kilometer long. But there are offshoots on both sides along the way. It's full of handicrafts and other local artisans works amongst other things. And of course lots of food stalls. We had to try the coconut ice cream in musk melon. It was good but prettier than it tasted.
