Observed species:
•great barracuda swimming lonely on the reef. The larger objects are mainly avoided as food because they can accumulate a toxin which causes several food poisonings. Being able to swim up to 58 km/h makes them one of the fastest fish in the sea, they rely on their speed and surprise to ambush the prey. They have a curious habit of following divers and swimmers(mostly because of shiny objects that attracts them) but the number of human attacks is really low.
•a small haksbillturtle acsenting with us to get some air. They got their name from their beak because it looks like the hawks ones. For identification: They actually do have 2 claws on their forefins an two pair of prefrontal scales (the grenn seaturtle only has one claw per fin and 1 pair of prefrontal scales)
•Seapen on the sand. They anchor themselves by inflating a bulb on the tip of their central stalk. Most species tipically inflate at night to feed when there are less predators, but some also anchor themselves during the day when currents run.

Observed species:
•Giant Moray getting cleaned. With a maximumlenght of up to three meters it is the largest moray species exsisting. By constantliy having their mouths open they are breathing by forcing water over the grills and they can live up to 50 years
•day octopus just chilling and camouflaging on the reef. It is the largest and most commonly sighted octopus in the western pacific. Their dens can be located by the mollusk piled infront of entrances. About octopuses in general: they have three hearts, nine brains and no bones and they live short lifes, often dying shortly after breeding.
•peacock mantis shrimp running over the reef. Contrary to their name the mantis shrimps are neither mantis nor shrimps, they are classified as stomatapods. They boast the fastest strike in the animal kingdom, where their victim stands very little chance. They can even punsh their way through aquarium glass, giving them an alternative name "the thumb splitter"Læs mere
