    The weather on the road to France amounted to rain with a bit of thunder and lightning chucked in just to make it interesting, but it didn’t take to long to find our next parking spot close to the beach in Argelés-sur-Mer.
    The old town here is a nice place to have a wander around on a nice sunny afternoon and the beach is magnificent but it has a dark side.
    As the Spanish civil war ended France found itself flooded with refugees and the beach here became a reception area for anybody fleeing Franco’s troops which according to the memorial became a concentration camp for 160,000 people which of course meant death from hunger, cold and disease followed for the unlucky!
