• Bilbao bun

    September 10 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

Swam across the Bay of Biscay again and docked in Bilbao today 🇪🇸 .
Both Gijon and La Rochelle were quite compact cities, however Bilbao is huge and we realised we probably weren't going to be able to see all the sights in one day, but we tried our best!

We had to navigate the metro today as the port is quite far away from the city centre.

When we arrived, we had a wander around the old town, before heading on a walk along the river. The heavens decided to open at this point, so we did a bit of cafe and shop hopping until it stopped. It was mad weather as 22 degrees but drizzly.

Had a tapas stop, and found the Guggenheim museum where there is a huge statue of a puppy which is made of flowers. We found our first miniature treasure today in a souvenir shop which was a mini Bilbao puppy.

We then carried along the river for Tom to spot the football stadium, before finding a park and gelato stop and walking back through the new town to the metro station.

Bilbao is an incredibly huge and busy city but we did enjoy strolling through the streets and admiring the architecture. Was really cool that you could spot the mountains from the labyrinth of streets.

Arrived back, quick nap, then a magic show (which was insanely cool), dinner and tropical party night 🌴
