There is a lot in this town to see but for us the major sight was Sanctuario da Nossa Senhora dos Remedios - Sanctuary of Our Lady of Good Remedy. The Baroque chapel was built over an older 14th centaury chapel in 1730 but the staircase!!!!! It took over 200 years to build. I took the video of the staircase at night so that you could not see that the Portuguese , bless them, decided that the best route for the power cables and a couple of pylons and a dozen poles was to run it up alongside the stairs!Leggi altro
